2014 Growth Diary – Eight Weeks

These are the photos for the 2014 growth diary, taken on July 5 2014, which is eight weeks since I’ve planted the roses. The cold winter weather has finally arrived in Sydney which seems to have slowed down the leaf growth quite a bit, which is good I think, as this means the root growth can catch  up.

Bareroot Roses

All the bareroot roses growth  have slowed down due to cold weather, most of the growth seems to be in the leaft thickness.

Jubilee Celebration is the only bareroot that had a really noticeable growth, probably because it really didn’t grow that much in the first place  :) Below are photos taken in different angles, it basically leafed out some more and had some stem growth.

Potted Roses

For the potted roses I planted, Honey Bouquet is doing reasonably well, it’s been slowly growing out new leaves.

Valencia on the other hand has dropped almost all of it’s leaves except a couple which I encircled. I noted during the 6-weeks growth diary that it seemed to be having some blackspot, well it dropped all those leaves.

The next update will be their growth after another 2 weeks.
